Today was the local circuit assembly all about peace.
We were ready for the bus at 8am, it came at 8:20. Typical. Thats ok, we had plenty of time. The program was held in a local college gym. We sat on concrete bleachers, others on the plastic chairs. Over 2, 400 attended.
I thought I might follow along well enough, but it is difficult to hear, with accuracy, another language through a pa system, and the speakers facing us were actually not working. So, it was a long, hot day that I understood about 12% of. But, you know, it is still a good place to be, with people that have the same faith. And we said hi to friends and met new ones, like the two girls from Argentina, who have moved here to learn Quechua. That sounds like a tough language. Hmmm, now I have a contact in Argentina....
We had dinner at at place called the Factory, and it's the most American restaurant here, and thus the most expensive. Legit Bolivians are shocked that we can "afford" it. Well, food is cheap here: a full meal of soup, entre and dessert can be as little as $2. Food poisoning free.
This place served wings, burgers and steaks, and the most expensive item on the menu was $17. Ritzy.
Casie and I tore it up and still only spent about $30. Hahaha but we had a blast and got together with a bunch of the other Americans here.
Back by popular demand, it's time to play Name that Fruit!
No one completely answered the last challenge correctly, but Emma can get a point for potato, as that is what Dad is "throwing". His "earrings" were a lime and a pomegranate, and Crasie was batting with a zucchini.

Who can name what I am holding, at the assembly today?

Kumquat
ReplyDeleteImagine that, crasie eating wings! You look nice and bright too! Keri that kumquat is your face. Literally.
ReplyDeleteThe plastic chairs at the assembly. Reminded me of the South Africa convention. The new street art is gruesome!!!! Don't bring it home! I will guess a tomato for the fruit. Mom
