No Hay

Well that was the worst night of sleep.  The more time I spent in that hostel,  the more hatred I developed. It was like they purposefully wanted this to be the least comfortable 12 hours of our trip.  Do they get a trophy for that?  4-6 crowded in a room, no outlets, no windows,  and thank goodness Stacie warned us to bring sleeping bags instead of use their bedding,  cause ew.
It was poorly built,  and no where to go other than the table or bed. You had to pay for the shower, and get at least three people who wanted showers before they agree to turn on the water.  The bathroom was shared,  and right beside the dining tables, so that was a nice additional reduction in privacy. The clever bums of the other group were loud and harassed us for drugs! We got up at 4:30am to leave,  and they had cut off the electricity,  so no lights to get dressed and packed. I was glad to leave as early as we could!
We drove to see some geysers first. Hooray,  we commented internally, because we love sulfur-spouting ground pits at 6am. They were neat,  some were boiling,  some just steaming.  Had it not been cold, early,  and stinky, maybe I'd have felt more thrilled.  I was having trouble breathing from the altitude, sulfur gas and dust. I think my lungs have aquarter-inch coating by now.

We finally reached a "rest stop" and had some breakfast,  before stepping into the natural hot pool. Aaaahhh, the chill melted away and we just felt warm and relaxed.

Next we saw more mountains,  and Laguna Verde. I like their lake colors here! Looming over the lake is Volcano Licancabur.

Then we drove, and drove, 8 more hours back to Uyuni. It was a pretty view, but bumpy roads.  And all day. We're exhausted, and basically the cool salt hotel we had planned for tonight got messed up and we're catching a late bus to Sucre. Boo
But, we saw lots of llamas!
